Hi all,
I am trying to setup a test environment so I can begin testing the installation and configuration of the ARS Add-on for Lync Server 2.0. I'd like to run through a bit of testing before implementing in production but so far I have not had any luck. I have an open case with support but have not yet found a resolution to the problems I have encountered. I'd like to get the community's feedback to see if anyone one else has faced these problems.
The errors I am encountering are;
- The Add-On for Lync configuration page continually displays that 'Add-on configuration is not complete. IIS restart required.'. I have restarted IIS via IIS management console, IISReset, server reboots, and web interface reloads. I have confirmed that the 'Enable for Lync Server' button does appear on users in the web console.
- Using my initial ARS + QC config, when I attempted to test the connection to QC from the add-on config page I received an error that included "Could not load file or assembly "quest.quickconnect.unifiedconnectormodel,version=1.0.0.0"
- Using my second ARS + QC config, when I attempted to test the connection to QC from the add-on config page I received an error that included "Could not load file or assemblyQuest.QuickConnect.ServiceModel,Version=5.2.0.0"
My test environment consists of a few scenarios but the most basic is a single domain forest with the Lync 2013 schema extension. One DC runs Server 2008 R2 and the second DC runs Server 2012 R2.
My initial ARS + QC config included a single Windows Server 2008 R2 server which hosts ARS 6.7 with patch 3694 (admin service + MMC + WI), Add-on Manager 1.2, Add-on for Lync 2.0, QC Sync Engine 5.3 and QC Express for AD 5.4. SQL is hosted on a separate Windows Server 2008 R2 server running SQL 2008 R2 Standard Edition. Testing with this configuration resulted in the errors listed in items 1 and 2 above.
My second ARS + QC config includes one Windows Server 2008 R2 server (built from scratch, not repurposed from initial config) hosting ARS 6.7 with patch 3694 (admin service + MMC + WI), Add-on Manager 1.0, Add-on for Lync 2.0 and a second Windows Server 2008 R2 server hosting QC Sync Engine 5.2 and QC Express for AD 5.3. SQL is hosted on a separate Windows Server 2008 R2 server running SQL 2008 R2 Standard Edition. Testing with this configuration resulted in the errors listed in items 1 and 3 above.
The only documentation that I have come across so far are the release notes for the add-on. As far as I can tell I have satisfied all of the system requirements for the install. Once I get this configuration working in a single domain environment I also need to begin testing with a resource forest topology.
Has anyone run into any of these issues? I'd really like to hear what others have done to address or workaround these issues.
Many thanks in advance!
